Yesterday I started my truck and I felt the idle was a little erratic, it would slowly bounce from about 600 to 1,000 rpm. I revved the engine a bit and noticed that it stumbled. Then I put it in reverse to leave the drive way and the engine died. When I tried cranking the engine back up, it took at least five seconds before it fired. I managed to keep it alive while in gear and went around the block. The truck had no power whatsoever (can't maintain 60mph uphill) and was constantly stumbling. I died out coming up to stop signs a few times as well. The exhaust also smells extremely rich.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? No codes have shown up, other than 32 - EGR, which I've had for years. The truck is the one in my sig, '95 Chevy 1500 5.7L 4L60E

I have replaced:
- The fuel filter back in May and again today
- IAC and TPS back in Feb/Mar
- Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor a few weeks ago

One thing that might be worth noting is that I just filled up three days prior to this at a store I never bought gas from before. Several people have suggested that I got bad gas/water in the gas and that I need to drain the tank (and replace the filter again possibly). I've also heard that the MAP, O2, or coolant temp sensors could be to blame.

I would definitely mark the gas as suspect. Have you checked the fuel filter since you filled up there? Stuff in the gas might have clogged the fuel filter.

I'd suspect something in the fuel or possibly even a fuel pump issue.

Well I wouldn't rule it out completely, but maybe somebody else has some suggestions before you have to go ripping into it to find out.

Check your ground wire. I had many stumbling and bad idling issues solved with a $6 ground wire. It was a 400 with just about as many miles.
