Engine....Help me find one?

so.....I have looked all over eastern ky and Tennessee and I could only find one 4.2ltr v6 and they want a thousand dollars for it, and they don't even know how many miles are on it...so can any1 find one for ALOT CHEAPER? if you can I will pay for the motor and shipping, thanx guys, I want desperately to get the little black f150 back on the road,,, here's the details for the search...1997 f150 xlt 4.2ltr v6 2wd 5spd manual...

How bad is your engine... The Ford 3.8 is the same engine, just a smaller bore.

The 4.2 from a car bolts right in. You just have to make sure the flywheel has the same number of bolts. Some are 6 bolts and some are 8 depending on the plant they were built at.

tried that too, there just aren't any around here, guess people either scrapped everything or traded in on the cash for clunkers scheme
