The VW CamperVan is finally dead?

Any of you ever actually drive on of those things? They gave a whole new meaning to the words slow and fear. 0-60 was measured in minutes... IF there wasn't a headwind.

I remember reading about a minibus with a Porsche 6 in it and thinking that had to be the most pants crappingly terrifying ride ever. They were slow because it wasn't safe to go fast in them!

My mother has one,it had most of the necessary stuff in it for camping but man was it gutless. She drove it from Seattle down here twice back in the '70s,she loved it.Add that it was an A/T and it was even worse, engine was smooth though.Imagine her in her '50s and my grandmother in her '70s puttin' down I5 at 60-65 for 1200 miles

I didn't realize they made and sold them everywhere but here in the US. I thought this was dead 40 years ago.
