Wait are you talking about the item below the water pump? Did someone mention a mechanical oil pump? Does this truck have electronic power steering?
Not sure. Doesn't look like any power steering pump I ever saw. Damn I hope they don't go to a belt driven oil pump. :eek:

I think that's the vacuum pump for the brakes. Doesn't have a power steering pump, all the trucks have EPS. I believe oil pump would probably be under the timing cover and driven off the crank and the fuel pump is on the top back of the engine and driven by the cam.

There is a guy over on Tech who says he is an insider at GM. Suppose to be an engineer for the new line of engines and this is what he had to say about the 4.3L

What I can tell you is this.... the 4.3liter V6 engine will out perform a stock LS1 in every area possible. Or to say it another way it will drag the STOCK LS1 BALLS against the Asphalt. That should give you some type of gaming changing performance we are looking at going forward.

He might be over-expecting. Unless there will come a turbocharged version to compete against the Ecoboost :lurk:

They came out with the official power rating for the 5.3 liter and the 6.2 liter.
5.3= 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque
2014 Chevy Silverado EcoTec V8 Beats Ford’s EcoBoost Engine
6.2= 420 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque
2014 Sierra Denali Pairs High-Tech Luxury and Capability

This post is useless! Either give us all the info or log out! Where is the 4.3 HP numbers? :D:jester:
Those numbers came out a long time ago. Pffft. :jester:
