Dual Batteries

Well either I'm just a moran (which is entirely possible) and/OR I'm using the wrong search words.

I am looking to take my current battery and move it to the secondary battery location in my truck.(after getting the battery tray and new battery of course)

It seems I read a post on how to do this, but can't find it.

I think you run alt to battery #1 then a power wire from battery #1 to battery #2 (aux battery) then ground it to frame like the primary,but isn't there a form of a regulator(for lack of a better term) that you put in between or no?

Thanks oh masterful clown. That's pretty much what I was looking to do.
My only problem with his write up is the discouragement of using a flux capacitor.

I might not own a Delorean ,but I've always wanted to install one.

Yeah that's what stopped me from doing it, I knew I could reach 88mph but with no FC I just couldn't get to where I wanted to go.

Seriously though, if you do end up doing it take some pics for a how to. I was considering doing this but now my extra battery tray is going to be occupied by a large intercooler reservoir for my blower.

Remember, when wiring batteries together it's best to have them the same size/capacity/brand!

If you want to go the Isolator route, this is by far the simplest setup:

Will do. Right now I'm making do with the battery I have and HOPEFULLY can upgrade by week's end to an Optima. THEN look at the dual set up and OF COURSE pics .

Well that puts a damper on a second one right away. I WAS just going to use the one I have now as a second/aux seeings how I don't need 2 for now and won't for a short while. The 200 amp alt -single battery combo should do for a while.

If the batteries are going to be mismatched in any way, even something as simple as date of manufacture, then an isolator is an absolute must.
