Working on Nova again. Having a small pop out exhaust around 3000rpms. And iv eliminted everything but this...Was wondering if i have a stock rotor but brass dist. cap would that make a issue?

I do have a brass rotor iv tried but it catches on the curve kit and makes it run the timing up like im wot while its just at idle.

2nd question is if it fixes the problem by putting on the brass rotor but it catchs the curve kit which leaves it at the wot timing while just idling. I could'nt do that could i? Thanks guys for your input.

Re: dist,/rotor issue?

Have you thought about switching to a GM HEI distributor and doing away with the old points type?

Re: dist,/rotor issue?

Check the plastic bushing or maybe springs are the same color meaning you didn't mix them up?
