Probably just a dye they added to it to make the "good stuff" look cool. I'm sure it attracts high school students.

On another note... anybody noticed that gasoline doesn't smell like gasoline anymore? Around here, it has a sulfur like (almost) diesel smell and it's clear.

I seldom ever get gasoline from multiple stations. I normally get gas at a station owned by a friend. Every once in awhile, it does smell a little different. :dunno:

Jim,

I have noticed that...a lot. :(
Almost none of it actually "SMELLS" like gasoline anymore. :(

Every once in a while, on a trip...usually out in the middle of nowhere, I will get gas that still "SMELLS" like gas.

Without fail, within a few miles you can tell the difference in the way the car runs.
I always track my mileage, and it "ALWAYS" gets better mileage on the gas that "SMELLS" like gas.
That is, if I keep my foot out of it. :)
