I had a bug deflector for a while. Only reason I bought it was because I kept getting but guts all over my hood during road trips. It did keep the bugs off the hood, but they still splattered all over the bumper, grill and lights, and also on the windshield. It also created a lot of turbulence that caused my windshield trim to rattle at high speeds. So I ended up taking it off and tossing it. Now I make sure to apply a fresh coat of wax before a road trip, and the bugs come off a LOT easier.

I've had problems with the wipers lifting off the windshield at highway speeds. Don't need that when it's raining.
