thats why TBSS rules the street in comparison to Silverado/Sierra. The only other is Hennessey's HPE1000 Escalade. Those have lots of weight over the rear wheels in stock form so they perform very nicely when serious upgrades are done. Not too many Yukons/Suburbans get retrofitted :dunno:

That guy won't be doing anything but spinning with those rubber band tires. Looks really nice though!

:werd: 530hp, only about 200 of which actually make it to the pavement. The other 330 goes up in tire smoke.

Yeah, so?

Point being, the extra horsepower gains him nothing... except shorter tire life and higher fuel consumption. Every single horsepower that doesn't actually get transferred into vehicle motion is utterly worthless.

Bernie, that was him showing off with street tires and from a stand still. Better tires would help at the track and there's a lot of fun to be had while rolling as well.

Understood... But it's still a waste of horsepower. Even with better tires he's never gonna be able to put all those ponies to the pavement. The rear end of that truck is just too light to provide enough traction weight to do it.

You would be amazed at what a drag radial/slick and some traction bars will do.

Granted, slicks and bars DO make a huge difference. But when you have such a huge horsepower to weight ratio you simply do not have enough ground pressure on those rear wheels to make full use of the horsepower and, as I said before, horsepower that isn't translated to motion of the vehicle is simply wasted. You end up with a lot more stress on all the components (and a lot more expense) for no actual benefit.

That's the goal of bars and 4links, when the momentum of the vehicle shifts they apply downward force on the axle. Weight distribution in most drag cars is not in favor of the axle.

I don't remember the last time I saw a Texan in a cowboy hat that wasn't on TV in some Hollywood depiction of Texas. It's a pretty rare sight here.

A life without stereotypes isn't worth living. :(

Now excuse me, I need to go grab my banjo and go pick some corn. :D
