Gary, this is what your differential is supposed to look like, this is my 8.8 that's in my Mustang GT, you can see the pin, that came out of your cover, and if you look to the right of the pin, you can see the bolt that broke, its inside the recess...

Just got home,man what a day..I'm beat:eek:

Thanks for all the advice and kind words..I bought a new set of 6t. jackstands today, you'll see 'em in the pics.

Well, things started off pretty good, parked the RV next to the Expi, got things set up with a friend who lives on the property..without his help I wouldn't have gotten this far, thanks Crockett

We didn't get the old one out because the four bolts on each side that hold the suspension arms on are almost like they're welded on.We had to cut two nuts off(that's all for today, got dark) with a die grinder. Not even a very strong 1/2'' impact gun would budge 'em.We'll continue tomorrow if the rain holds off.Today was OK,only heavy drizzle, the awning helped alot

On to the pics..

It is a start.

I know it is hind site but ya should have sprayed everything down with BP Blaster. :)

That's what I said when the bolts wouldn't come loose. But I made sure to spray 'em last nite before coming home.

There was some kind of blue thread lock stuff on the bolt threads on the ones we did manage to get off.Why not just use lock washers? or is that not the way it's done today?
