I am surprised you didn't go with 15s... but that would mean having to buy tires right away.

Actually, the reason I decided to buy wheels at all was that I plan on buying good summer tires (once I start working and get some money saved up, I've depleted my savings as much as I want to at the moment).

I went with 14s just because of weight. Pretty much every 15" wheel was significantly heavier, significantly more expensive, and the tires were significantly more expensive. I also think both 14" and 15" wheels look perfect on a Miata, so I chose the cheaper, lighter option. :D
