I always thought those first gens had that classy look without being too cute. I think it might look better the way it is without any mods! One thing I noticed about these cars is how well they age, the interior, like the shifter assembly and gauges and seats, all seem pretty modern and sporty for being a 20 year old design. Im glad you don't want to do what all the other kids my age in my area do and slam it and make the wheels/tires angle out to almost a 45 degree angle and go through tires every month for edge wear. Drop it a little, add a roll bar, make it breath a little better, and enjoy the top down great gas mileage!

I agree, that stock for stock, the NA (1st gen) looks less cutesy than the NB (2nd gen). The NB though, can be made to look fairly aggressive, and the NA just looks plain doofy and happy with the pop-up lights up.

I also noted the same thing about the interior in the '92 my buddy used to have. It's not a great interior, but it looks a hell of a lot better than a lot of interiors from the era (compare it to the early GMT400 interior for example, and that only came out 1 year prior).

And I fWONking HATE "hellaflush" Miatas. Why would you take a car whose best attribute is how it handles, and turn it into something that well... Sucks to drive by putting it 1" off the ground, with stretched tires that always rub. I'll never understand.
