OK, seriously then. Why is it lame?

Is it more lame than anything else in its class, or is that entire class of vehicle lame?

I just read up on it and it sure makes GM's counterparts in those years seem lame to me.

Seems very very well-equipped, both with std and optional features not available on the Trailblazer or Envoy.

It looks lame-ass.

It was a lame-ass follow-up behind the Cherokee.

And... I just don't like it. I don't care if it has a blowjob machine that extends out from the steering column, I just don't like it.

If it were a Cadillac, I'd. Think. It. Was. Lame. Ass.

Most of the big three have a large chunk of their business that consists of lame-ass vehicles; it really shouldn't be shocking. It's bland, and lame, just like most of the offerings out there.

I know there are guys who have made some of them pretty nice, but it was never my cup of tea.

Oh, and because it's not GM, obviously.

Ah, that makes perfect sense now.

Thanks for clarifying.

Though maybe you ought to look up the word "lame". It is not synonymous with "ugly". ;)

Done yet?

Yes.

So... Good news and bad news.

Good news: I found out why the 6.0 lost oil pressure, it was in fact the bypass valve in the oil pump that was stuck open.

Bad news: One cam lobe is pretty fucked, and there's a significant amount of play in the #1 rod bearing. So it looks like I'll be replacing all the bearings and lifters in addition to the oil pump, and going with a new cam. Also means the heads have to come off. This ain't gonna be cheap but whatever, I get to go bigger with the cam at least.

Cylinders and pistons looked great from underneath though, so I don't see any need to do anything there.

On to pictures.

Some shit in the oil pan:

Seems to be rubber, some seal/gasket material. Not sure from where.

Pickup tube O-ring was perfect:

How the bypass valve should look:

Guys, my truck is officially NOT STOCK anymore!

Tore off the moldings and badges the other day. Super exciting, I know.

Paid the truck off this weekend, so suspension parts should start to get ordered in the next week or so, and I'm working on a frame notch design and finding someone with a press brake currently.

Also ordered a buffer, and a few things from Adam's polishes last night so hopefully I can get the paint looking halfway decent.

If it's not raining when I get off work today I'll probably throw the tint on the front windows as well.
