True, but so much is invested in Bruton's tracks that they can't afford to pull up stakes and go set up another venue. Big money involved. That's what I meant.

Oh, I know..

I think NASCAR is falling into the same trap the movie & TV industries have fallen into. "This is how we've made our money for years. If we just keep TELLING the people THIS is what they want, they'll come back to us!" Of course the TV & movie industries also blame piracy, but that's another story all together......

I think your idea of going to more markets would improve ticket sales and draw more people into the sport. As you know, a NASCAR race weekend is a lot of fun... even for non NASCAR fans.

Agreed.. I think they should spread 'em out more..

After the "new" wears off, I think two races at a track in the same year is too much.. There's only so much money you can pull out of a market. Even if you figure that some people will drive x-hundred miles to go to a race, they're not going to do that for every race at a track, every year..

I think they should shorten up the amount of time spent at Daytona to begin the season and I think the 36 race schedule should be going to more than just 23 tracks.. Spread it around and let some other people join in, too.. :dunno:

I kinda like the Daytona thing. They still make a killing at Daytona. The whole speedweeks thing is a big hit.

I believe making the cars actually resemble the street versions would be a big help. They all look alike so there's no brand name loyalty much anymore. The V8 Supercars of Australia are superb at this. I also like the Racing sedans in Europe.

It just seems to drag on too long, IMO.. They're in Daytona for what, a MONTH?

Not really.

Stock car racing is traditionally oval track racing. Quite a different take on racing than road course racing. NASCAR has tried to implement road racing into the schedule, but it never has picked up anywhere near the audience of the oval track stuff.
