Damn it, Dan. I was going to steal this photo and enter it in a contest. You and those stupid watermarks.

Hey, someone from Road & Track magazine recently emailed me about potentially using a random photo I took years ago of a Miata roll bar in the magazine. They pay. Well. Without the watermark, they probably don't find me.

If it goes on Flickr, it gets watermarked.

Wait, so they find it on your Flickr, yet they wouldn't be able to find you without your name on it?

I am sure I'm missing something here, please explain when you have a minute.

I really don't care about the watermark, that was just me giving you shit, but I'm not picking up what you're laying down here on the watermark. :pfingers:

I think they found it in a Google search. Not sure if it was linked back to my Flickr or what, but I've had several images get rehosted and make their way around the interwebs, so the watermark never hurts. My Flickr page is where I post anything that's of reasonable quality, the shit stuff goes on photobucket un-watermarked.

EDIT: Brian, this is the photo. Really nothing special at all, but I guess they just wanted a high quality photo of a roll bar.

Nice shot. My OCD meter is going through the roof on the zip-tie ends though. :daddy:

UPDATE 1:

I put over 11k on the 4Runner since I bought it, and had no failures other than a water pump/alternator belt. Thing is a tank.

UPDATE 2:

I'M STILL DUMB AND BOUGHT SOMETHING ELSE. WHO WANTS TO BUY THE 4RUNNER?

2000 BMW 323Ci, 5 speed, 186,000 miles, some cosmetic issues, and it needed a new passenger side lower control arm (which was sitting in a box in the trunk). Paid a friend's parents $2,000 for it. Came with the alloy 17s with good summer tires on them, and a set of 16" steelies with snow tires. Too good a deal to pass up. Plan is to get it mechanically sound, clean it up cosmetically, then throw it on craigslist with a high asking price while I use it as my DD and see how much I can get for it. I'd like to get into an AWD E46 wagon for the winter, but we'll see how things develop.

Who wants to buy the 4Runner?
