You think I Shiv a Get?!!!?
Hey sorry to hear about your headache with this issue.
I don't know if this helps but I asked my dad how much it would be to rebuild your current one and he said $85.
My Dad owns a CV joint and Rack & Pinion steering shop. They rebuild everything in house and have been doing so for over 20 years.
I know shipping is a pain in the ass though.
I also spoke with him and he is willing to send you the CV Boot clamp and grease for free. You would need to buy or borrow a clamping tool in order to use the provided clamp though.
I told him about your situation and he offered to send you the stuff.
Jim is right it is nothing more than a c clamp and a couple wacks with a mallet to get the cv joint off and replace the boot.
Let me know if you are interested.
Oh and this is the facebook page that I made for my dad's shop. Please feel free to like it.

Thanks again Ivan, that is very generous of you and your dad. I will definitely keep that in mind in case the cv shaft my wife bought doesn't work, but I have to believe it will work if they ordered the part using my VIN. Shoot, the original cv shafts lasted over 12 1/2 years before both boots finally split open from dry rotting.
This has most certainly been one of those WTF moments.
