Can you give me a little more detail, Big Red?
What kind of simulators? Where do you get them? How do they work sending a steady signal when the front one will be changing?

If you look at the thread link I posted earlier... all the details you are asking for are already there...

You mentioned SHORTY HEADERS earlier...
You may want to do some research on them before you buy them.
I have been told that shorty headers are usually not much better than the stock manifolds...
I have never owned any... just going on what I have been told...
I have had numerous sets of long tubes...
In my opinion...
Go LONG TUBE or GO HOME...

Especially the newer LS manifolds, they give the same performance as shorty's... They're just not as pretty.

This is the first time I'm hearing of this. I am BY NO MEANS an expert on exhaust or performance, but I figured shorties had bigger exhaust tubes then manifolds and while not quite having the flow and added horsepower as long tubes they were a middle of the road compromise.:dunno:

One more reason I'm glad I chose :tmc: as my home base for forums.

Ok after taking Ya'lls advice I went back to Autoanything, Jegs etc.

They ONLY show Thorley shorties for a 4X4. Refreshing my memory as to my decision.(I was thinking along the lines of emissions for my choice, but that was only an added factor).

Is this because of my transfer case or_______?:dunno:

I'd LOVE to do the long headers, but I don't see it happening. After researching a little more, I've decided not to fool with the computer. I see lots of problems stemming from trying to "fool" or simulate the sensors around the cats. This p!sses me off.

Bubba, the Pacesetters I bought, and the accompanying crossover pipe, fit perfectly. My part number was 72C2265 and 82-1176 respectively.

I guess I'll swap for some shorties.

That doesn't even sound good when you say it...........

Thanks HT I'll look into them. So the crossover pipe allows for duals, just not strait back duals as in other applications.

I've read reviews(without knowing anyone with first hand knowledge) that Pacesetters vs. Thorleys weren't even close in comparison and the cost difference wasn't worth the sacrificed performance.:dunno:

Of course the Borlas are DOUBLE the Thorleys!, but I won't be running out to buy them whether they fwonkin' fit or not.

Ok so going to Jeg's and looking at the cross over pipe it's actually a Y pipe and it takes my headers and turns it into a single exhaust ? OR would they just run another Y piece to turn it back in to duals turning it into an X pipe of sorts?

I know that Jarrod and Dan are both running long tube headers and they both have 4wd trucks. :dunno:

Ok... Think about it this way.. You have two rivers flowing and you confine them down to one.. and then split it back to two (if you do a Y and then another Y.. :uhoh:) You'll have a bottle-neck of flow where you confine it down to one and then split it back out. I wouldn't do that...

If you're going to do duals, do true duals.. all the way back.. Yeah, a cross-over pipe will help balance pressures. So, you'll want that.

But a Y and then another Y..... No, I wouldn't do that..
