The cookie cutter tracks they've raced the past few races is what's allowed the wreck free races. And to think, Nascar wanted a shit ton of cookie cutter 1.5 mile tracks. They have a tendency to produce long boring races. AMS was touted as being an "exciting" track from all it's close finishes it had back in the day. I can't count the times I wanted to just take a nap during the middle of the races there at Atlanta.
I don't watch to see them crash, but the only time the race is exciting is when they line up and the green flag flies. Twenty laps after the flag I'm bored and changing channels.
