No, I just checked the parts sites. They are listing a different caliper for the 05-06 trucks with rear drum brakes. They list the same caliper if it has rear discs. But if it has rear discs, then it doesn't have the larger front brakes.

Thanks. Good to know what determines the larger front caliper.
Since my last post I went to O'Reily's and with thier prices I'm looking at about $750.:ohnoes: Along with more research I'm going to be looking both on line and locally to see how much I can shave that down to.

Wouldn't it be easier to just upgrade to a set of performance pads and rotors? Just asking. Seems like a lot of guess work when it comes to something important like brakes. I know EBC is expensive but the R&D is already done.:dunno:

Stock brakes sometimes aren't good enough for bigger tires and such.

Though, I'd look at SS brake lines, too.

As far as I know, swapping in the dual piston brakes in is literally just bolt on... You do need the different rotors, however, the ones on the 'burb are thicker.

Yeah, but from reading the link on those that swapped they now have rear wheel lockup on hard braking, that isn't good. I know it can be solved with a proportioning valve but that is just another added cost.

I thought you'd have that problem going from drums to discs, but not from a caliper swap :dunno:

To answer/comment on the above^^^^^^^

Like dr said it gives added stopping power.

For now when I upgrade it will most likely be a pad/rotor only swap. I have some miles left on my pads and rotors are in great shape. I might just have the rotors turned (if need be)and put the thermos on. It's looking like a lot of extra expense to swap out all the other stuff.

Having all stock 4 disc brakes has been proving very effective in quick stops.:ohnoes:

That is a good safety factor to look at with/if the rear dics are locking up. Very note worthy for further research. Thanks for pointing that out.:zembonez:

Oh and I 1,000% agree on the SS lines. I will be doing that as soon as I SAS so I buy the length for the added 5"(ish) I'm going up. Right now (since the p.o. didn't swap) they are just barely long enough by re routing them for the lift I have.
