yes I'm going to be converting my 95 gmc k2500 to a k3500 dually. this will include 4.10 gears front and rear as well as new 1 ton suspension. but I'm curious what the adapters to put the dually wheels on the 14 bolt rear axle are called. Also I'd like to have front and rear disk brakes does anyone know when GM started putting disk brakes on the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks?

You should really look into the proper hubs. It will not be one ton rated with adapters. By now, junk yards should have what you seek.

the "adapters" I'm talking about are the one chevy slapped on the 14 bolt axles for the actual K3500s rolling off the assembly lines. Since I dont know the techincal term for them the closest thing I can call them are "adapters"

but I'll start looking into rear calipers from 99 duallys now. thank you for that.

Sure would be a good idea to find a donor truck. So much hardware would be accessible, it would be worth it.

well I'd love too except the only duallies in town are over 5K and there are no duallies being parted out either.

I am starting to think the only difference between 3/4 tons and 1 tons is an extra spring on the dually from what I've found online at least.

My experience comes from dealing with fords but I would not think GM's are much different.

I have found that the dually rear ends are more narrow than single wheel. I believe if you just bolt a spindle and hub on it is going to be wicked wide. Have you taken any measurements off a dually truck of your year?

Actually I've found that the actual axle is the same length. for my year truck. I haven't yet measured the track of a similar year dually but I figure stock fenders should cover the tires (I hope). I also believe I found the difference between the single wheel and dual wheel hubs. the single wheel hug fits flush against the drum. while the dual wheel hub is extended outwards an inch. kinda weird thats the only difference.
