Been waiting on this.. .I remember when the solstice and ect came with direct injection... its a great platform and is real effiecent!!

The only reason they're switching to DI is because the high pressure injectors direct injection requires would be loud enough to over power the sound of piston slap and lifter tick...:jester:

I'm actually a huge LS fan...if I could have gotten one in the Jeep I'd have been all over that.

Probably not, since it's even cheaper now to get the Gen III. So I would guess it will be 7 years or so till you start seeing them pop up in junkyards for cheap.

Probably not, since it's even cheaper now to get the Gen III. So I would guess it will be 7 years or so till you start seeing them pop up in junkyards for cheap.

It will be a while before they are anywhere near as cheap. The Gen IV motors are not necessarily cheap right now.

I'd be quite curious to see a flexfuel version of this upcoming small-blocks. Considering the possible improvements on cold-start from the direct injection maybe it could work OK even with Brazilian ethanol (with 4% water and no gasoline blend).
