Looks really good, the gold bow tie screams nostalgia. Kind of hard to decide on it but black does look good. I am gonna try to get some paint quotes today and tomorrow.

Mine was done by the shop doing my 67 Camaro so I think I got a fair price but for that $225.00 they took apart the entire front end bumper area to pull off the chrome center section, blasted it and removed the chrome, painted, cleared and polished and reassembled the front end bumper area.

It was done right, been painted for about 18,000 miles and I know rocks and junk have hit it. No chips in it while I do have about 4 in the hood. I work near a gravel pit and those fuckers get the pee gravel shit everyplace. I usally take different rout to work to avoid it but sometimes I can't.

Good to know, I will take it all apart and bring the parts to the shop. So that kind of gives me an idea of pricing knowing they did the dis assembly of yours.

The guy that did mine worked at a Gm dealer body and paint shop for 25 years before opening his own shop.

OEM colors are cheaper to buy than custom or specialty colors and the amount of product needed to do the bumper section could not have been very much at all. I know some of these places keep stock on fatory color bases material because they can get quanity discounts and charge insurance full tilt material costs.

Just left the body shop, a buddy works there and is going to do some calling and figure up a price. We'll see how it goes.

Well I've been giving it some thought and I will probably roll with the red bow tie and chrome grille surround for a while. I need to get some quotes on getting the bumper and fascia painted. The grille I can buy from GM already painted red. The new Carriage Works billets are sitting in the garage right now.

Done yet? Install thread? :dunno:

Well here's what I've decided so far. Color match the bumper and fascia, insert the billet grilles and ptm the bowtie red. I'll rock that look for a while, if I decide I really want the red surround I can get that from GM already painted, just plug and play.

Now when this happens depends on how much the ptm costs at the shop. If it's reasonable enough I will go ahead and tear down the front end. Deliver the bumper and fascia to the body shop and take the grille surround with me to work on during the week.
