I've put about 200K on my Ford company cars. If I could keep a transmission in one I'd be a happy camper. Engines have all done great. My Explorer had 218K on it when I turned it in and the guy who bought it is still driving it.

BUT

Every Ford company car I have had has coughed up a transmission. Every one. That sucks. I've never had a transmission go out in any other vehicle in 30 plus years of driving.

All our work trucks are fords and all of them have over 100,000 some have over 200,00. None of them have had tranny work, mostly front end stuff.

Well if you changed out the transmission fluid every once in a while they would last longer. :jester:

I can say that all the ones around here don't have rusting issues. That is a northern thing with all the salt I would guess. As for any other issues, most of the farmers around here have GM trucks and they seem to hold up well.
