Chevrolet to replace the Impala in NASCAR with... ???

As per the press release:

Team Chevy will be racing a vehicle based on a new nameplate to the brand's lineup

That's why I added "New" I have little faith that they'll show something we haven't already seen. GM isn't exactly known for being able to keep a secret and announcing a new vehicle with new stickers on a NASCAR body isn't their style. Only other thing I can think of is the Impala replacement. I doubt it'll be Caprice either as they have shown no interest in releasing it to the general public.

You are missing the point. The Malibu is already a current nameplate in their fleet. This is going to be an entirely new car available to the public.

Not to mention, the article explicitly says it will NOT BE the Mailbu or Cruze.
