Chevrolet considering new high-end Silverado

I'm not that old and I know that a Silverado is a higher trim package than a Scottsdale.

For those of you who think the usage of Scottsdale and Chevelle are , maybe it's better that GM didn't go "make up some new names."

I was just looking through this morning's emails and noticed this.

Chevrolet will drop Aveo and adopt a new name - Sonic - when its remodeled entry-level subcompact debuts next year.

Sonic? Really? A car that can probably barely break the speed limit in some parts of Texas is going to be called the "Sonic"??

Apparently they are all for renaming stupid econo-box cars but won't leave iconic and influencial names such as Chevelle alone....

That little Aveo is more reminiscent of a Chevelle than a G8 is . . .

I always wondered why Chevy didn't have a Denali equivalent. But using Scottsdale as a name is stupid. They should just think of an original name.

This is true. Apparently they ran out of names over at the Chevy department. (Naming the new G8 replacement a Chevelle... )

calling it the scottsdale? that used to be a pretty cheap version was it not??? like a curent W/T???

I had a buddy with a 90 Scottsdale and it wasn't a stripped down truck, it just wasn't loaded. His came with a tapedeck, 40/60 bench with armrest. He had manual windows and door locks and no power mirrors. His truck was still nice though.

My father in law owned a 93 Silverado and it didn't have power windows or power mirrors either.
