calling it the scottsdale? that used to be a pretty cheap version was it not??? like a curent W/T???
In the GMT400 days, it was: W/T < Cheyenne < Scottsdale < Silverado.
In the late 60s the Cheyenne was the upscale model. I remember my dad buyuing a new 69 Chevy Cheyenne. It was fancy (for the time).

A little argument with the GM boys, I guess we can't really consider any of this "bashing" since it's kind of like kicking your brother's butt.

I think GM sticking with two lines is good for them. While having the basically same truck they can open themselves up to a wider market. I can be a gm fan and not like the looks of one of them and go with the other.

Oh yeah, I built a '72 Cheyenne Super for a guy. It had every creature comfort known to pickups at the time. Including a headliner, tach, tilt wheel. That's why my mind says luxury truck when I hear Cheyenne.

I preferred this front end on the 400's

I agree with this.

But for the GMT800 I the Chevy front end is much nicer. For gmt900s I like the fenders better on the chevy and the grill better on the gmc.

Now I think the 11 2500hd Chevys are badass.

I'm pretty sure my Dad's new 73 Chevy pickup was a Cheyenne too. It was one of those two tone jobs with all of the chrome. I believe the Scottsdale models came along in 1975.

I think that's right, my dad bought a brand new one in '76 and I think it was Scottsdale. I know it was a fully loaded as you could get back then. I would have to go look at some of the emblems online to be sure it was Scottsdale though.
