638 HP Small Block....the first 327 I built was no where near that. :lol:
The new LS platform is wild, there's almost no limit to how much power one of these stock blocks can handle. You used to have to spend a good bit of money on a first gen small block to get that much power. But comparatively speaking it was still cheaper to make Chevy power than most any other brand. They have just set the bar higher with the LS motors.

The small-block V8 from Chevy is still a bad ass. Some people don't understand why I like the Corvette more than a comparable Ferrari with their complex engines, but even with the OHV layout the small-block has a better throttle response for daily-drive without sacrifice the high performance...

with the DOD it sure isnt any where near perfect

damn MPG geeks :paranoid:

the dumb ass who bught a V8 in the first place know it would suck gas more than a v6...so do like FORD, no DOD
