I kind of like that the Colorado doesn't look like a "mini-Silverado," like the Canyon looks like a mini-Sierra.

But, I think it makes little sense for GM to have built this thing and not differentiated the price, MPG, etc. more between the full-sized and mid-sized trucks. :dunno:

And this is why they should never of brought it back.

*If* I like it in person and it drives ok. I'm actually thinking about buying one once the Hoe gets paid off. I'd like a pickup that wasn't $50k to bomb around in on the weekends and cruise to work with a little better mileage.Comparatively equipped there seems to be about a $10k price difference between it and a 1/2 ton. They finally got a Canyon in town today and had it parked next to a Sierra, there actually doesn't seem to be as much of a size difference between them as I'd thought. They are definitely not small and the backseat has a useable headrest unlike GM's half tons and HDs.

It should. The Tacoma was designed in the 90s. Toyota has been able to produce it with little competition for a long time... so why do much to it?

The Colorado is much larger than a Tacoma though... I'd bet Taco shoppers keep lining up at Toyota.

This. I'm not sure what GM is expecting. I see them mainly selling to those looking to replace their S10s, previous gen Colorados, Rangers, and Dakotas. Nissan will still be giving away the Frontier to the budget minded buyers and Tacoma owners will keep buying Tacomas. It'll be many years before GM can touch the Tacoma's reputation.

Yeah, I did some build & price it stuff this morning. The way I was equipping them, was about $7k difference. So, yeah, that matters. But, the 1 MPG better in the city and 2 MPG better on the road isn't enough of a difference in gas mileage to me.

Maybe when they come out with the diesel, there will be a big jump in fuel mileage. :dunno:

I believe there is an all-new Tacoma coming out very soon too, right? 2016?

I'm curious to see what the real world mileage is after more of them get on the road. The Tacoma and Frontier get worse than half-ton mileage and I have yet to see a modern half-ton hit their highway EPA number.
