I followed the direction in the Haynes manual and removed the door panel. If you don't have one, I do recommend getting it but basically you pop off the trip panel above the door lever and under the grab handle of the door, then remove the two screws it covers. You also want to remove the trim around the interior handle Next, there is one or two screws in the bottom of the door panel and you pull these out. I then used an door panel removal tool, this one to be exact

and popped the door panel loose. I carefully taped all painted surfaces, so as not to ding them when I pried the panel off. I took my time locating the push locks and them straddling them with the tool and popping them free. once I got them all free, I lifted the panel up and away paying careful attention to the wiring going to the window switch, which I disconnected. Once the panel was free I peeled back the splash guard as little as needed. Once you've got it pulled back you'll notice to 1.5"-2" diameter holes in line with each other. These are the access holes to the rivet that hold the window to the regulator. The annoying thing is the window will not move up and down with the switch detached, so once you've located the access holes you've got to plug the switch in and lower the window until the rivets are aligned the holes.

Now the fun part!! You've got to remove the rivets. The head of the rivet is significantly softer then the center, so your drill will tend to walk. I used an automatic center punch, and hit the center of the rivet stem, which pushed it out and left me with only the aluminum rivet to deal with, I drilled the head of the rivet off, while supporting the window mechanism with my other hand, snapped off the head, and removed the window clip, one on each end.

Great start of a great write-up!

I'll merge the two threads together once the second half is done.
