Whatever they end up doing, I'd bet you can count on performance!

There are many ways to deal with turbo-lag and reducing the risk of a fire. I remember to have seen some years ago a ceramic-compound turbocharger, and also some ceramic coatings to the exhaust manifold that were used in the Swedish Koenigsegg to reduce the risk of a fire and allow it to have a more compact design.

But my MAIN question remains....
WHY do all that crap... :dunno:
It is pointless...

Eco-nazis at EPA are pointless but they're still there. Blame it on then.

Anyway, if they're reallo taking the downsizing route with the C7, I wouldn't expect a new Vette to have any engine smaller than the Northstar.

One word: rumormill

Now I'm just trying to extinguish the fire with gasoline...

Seems like there is somebody taking this article I wrote some months ago too seriously: http://engineeringworkarounds.blogspot.com/2011/01/is-gm-ready-to-play-downsizing-game.html

But we must not forget the Corvette is, more than anything, an institution. It's not just a sports car, nowadays even a fart-canned Honda can be labeled so, but the Corvette is what a Ferrari would be if their engineers had real nuts. :jester:

my dad lol. but yours are better since they are engineers at GM, mine are just the trainers that learn about the new products GM is putting out. what i would give to work for GM.
