When I went to get the bronco aligned the mechanic told me the bushings were shot. Well the bronco has a RS400 (or 4000?) 4" lift on it and I was looking at them to make sure they're the same size as the ones I bought from autozone. My question is this. Look in the pic see the bigger bushings? The bushings on the top and bottom of my springs are both the bigger size. Am I sacrificing any ride comfort if I install the big bushings underneath the perch and the smaller ones on top? Or does it not even make a difference?

Thanks ahead of time

How are they mounted? I'm not familiar with older Broncos and their suspension setup so this question, to me, is a bit to vague to be able to help. Pictures would be even better.

Looks like this. The red bushing is where the larger one will be going. and the smaller one will be on the other side of the perch. As it is right now, there is from what I can tell a similar sized bushing to the one underneath the perch. Will it matter if mine is slightly smaller?

I'm no suspension expert but I don't believe you'll be able to notice any difference at all. Hell, if you are replace worn out bushings, any bushing will be better than what you are working with right now! You certainly aren't going to break anything. Go for it!

I agree with daddy (damn, that doesn't happen often!!!!!).

If it was a fitted bushing (like inside the eyes of the shocks) the size would matter. Where the bushing is just being used as a cushioned "spacer" the outside diameter shouldn't really matter as long as the mounting hole is the right diameter.
