I like how that guy kept the fenders, but if yours are rusted, then I guess it would be best to get rid of them in favor of a flatbed.

Yeah my fenders are pretty bad. Also under the end gate is pretty bad to. All the bracing and stuff is rusted through.
Heres a couple more pics I found and like...
I am seriously thinking of doing it. Still doing research and figuring out what I will need to close the back off. Thinking of finding a back section off a pickup to use. Might be a little while before My friend and I tackle it.

Any thoughts on a cage? I don't know how much rigidity will be lost when you cut up the cab.
I'm sure we will do something just not sure what yet. I will let my friend the fabricator figure that out.
