Alright fellas, I need some help on this one. I've been busy working overtime so I could give some nice presents and give myself 2 nice ones :tmc:. I Can't decide what brush guard to get. :dunno: It's hard to find one I like on this model truck. I was thinking the Aries one but not sure on the quality. :dunno: Do you guys know? The westin has a dang bar on top for some reason :skull: Besides that it's fine. Any others that look good on the NNBS GMC models?

I heard they are pretty heavy though. I'm not digging it hiding the whole front end. :dunno: If they took out the mesh and 2 litle bars I'd like it a lot though.

Do you want protection or just looks?

NNBS ranch hands look like ass even though theyre purpose built they're fugly.

The Aries one does look nice but with these grille guards theyre not going to hold up at all in a full on collision. They will protect in lower speed collisions but at highways speeds hitting a big enough deer can just bend the brackets in and do more damage than they save. A full replacement bumper would be the best imo. Aries is a pretty good company and weve put some on in the shop here and they seem pretty strong.

I had a Manik that was pretty beefy on my 98 and the PO said he hit a deer with it but there wasn't a scratch in the plastic so i dont know if thats true or not or how fast he was going.

I just want one to push cars out of parking spots.. Nah I drive to work in the dark in the mornings and almost dark coming home. Almost hit several deer in the past month. Thats the main reason. And Westins looks just like that one Tyler, but the top bar sticks way up since the GMC hoods curve right at the front

Most won't do you any good in a collision, but they will likely help in a deer hit. Even the Ranch Hands will fold into the hood if you hit much of anything.

Ah ya. Areis might not be a bad idea then they look faiyl good imo but I'd think first deer at highway speeds and those brackets where they mount to the frame will bend in with it.

Even though I dont like ranch hands theyre supposed to be the strongest so it kinda depends what you want out of it.

Good point. I always tell my friends to get the best stuff.. Only thing going for me Is I work for a Steel Erection/Fabrication shop. I can always fix a bent bracket or make a new one. Were making on for the older truck. I just ain't brave enough to try on my new one

Can we please stop using that OBS, NBS, NNBS bullshit. It took me 10 minutes to figure out what the **** we were supposed to be talking about.

Ranch hand, if you want protection.

For looks go with the lightweight Westin, but expect it to completely cave if you hit anything.
