My Burb has a 6'' lift with 4'' blocks in the rear and I have no sign of axle wrap. Also, when towing my toy hauler loaded and weighing close to 8,000lbs. it tracks straight and smooth.I normally keep the speed at 60 and have been up to 70+ with no ill effects.Perhaps being a 3/4t. truck with a FF rear axle has something to do with that :dunno:

BTW,it's a Pro Comp

Good to know. A 3/4 could have something to do with it but since my truck is an f44 with a 14 bolt sf rear and (guessing) 2500 leafs I don't think it would be a huge difference. Althoug I don't know the difference between a ff and a sf rear.

I think I might stick with a 4 inch block for now then move down to a 2 inch block with springs or just remove the blocks entirely when the time comes.

There is a mechanic at work who has a stock block on his nnbs and I think a 4 inch block stacked on top of it. That would get a little hairy I would think but he said towing is fine.

After a little more research I might sway towards a Dick Cepek 6.5" Lift if I can get a deal at work. Reason being is it is a full 6.5" diff drop and I wont have to crank very much to achieve a leveled height in the front. The RCX lift is right around $1000 but will leave me to have to crank up the front 2" to achieve a level ride height. The DC lift is roughly $1300 but I can justify the extra $300 by the probable wear I will save on my front end components in the long run due to the lack of need to crank. Also the DC is said to be "bulletproof" by quite a few OBS owners on other forums. They have also been said to be able to crank to 8" of lift with decent CV angles and fit 37" tires. I would love one of these lifts but if the price is right for the RCX and I can't get a deal on a DC I'll live with a Rough Country.

I don't know for sure.. But I have heard some people say the springs make the ride better over a big block...

But if you have bags I would think you would be fine with blocks.

Springs will make the ride much stiffer than with blocks.

I agree though with just my 4" lift on the F150 towing the z71 and the trailer i could of used bags. I think they will help more than springs

Go with DC. for your year model they are one of the top lifts. It helps they are lower end priced too

I'm trying to sway to something that I can get a deal on at work and I can't get RCX or Cepek. The brands I can get are pro comp, superlift (would love this but I think it will be pricey), rcd, trailmaster and a few other I forget.
I would love a cepek if I can get it for the right price shipped to canada but I'd have to get it shipped for under 1500 or I don't think ill get one which might be tough to get it for that price. Superlift is a good lift where I can get about 7 inches of lift with good angles but they are on the higher priced end.
