I want to get one to rebuild. I don't want to be without a truck (my primary vehicle). I plan on rebuilding it myself and having it ready when I need it. Then all I have to do is take out one and put one right back in. 2 days work instead of 3 weeks.

Plus its just more fun to do it yourself.

I agree with the DIY but transmissions are one thing that I will never fully understand.

Actually I've been helping a friend with one and it is going really good so far. I'll have to wait and see if it works when we get it back in the truck.
