Not so sure now but older z71 package included bilsteins and they last forever btw

Starting with the GMT900s (maybe even late model GMT800s) they switched to Ranchos (Tenneco) for the Z71/All Terrain packages. The Ranchos are garbage.

how much better do they ride compared to factory shocks?
Tons better. At your mileage the shocks are shot and the springs are "relaxed" a bit. Great choice.

I put a set of Bilstein 4600 on my stock 2011 Chevy 2500HD. They've been on for a week and I can tell a noticeable difference. Of course, anything would be better than the worn out shocks that were on it.

I got a long time to go for mine to be worn out before I upgrade. I waited until my 2002 had 100k on it before I changed out the shocks.
