Do you have a link to the thread? I can't find it anymore. The one you posted just brings up a picture.

Antenna delete or a shorter flexible antenna. Billet doesn't give and antennas are made to flex for a reason, so they don't snap off.

I planned to get it 6" long so there shouldn't be an issue with snapping off, right? Or am I missing something?

I thought about the antenna delete but was worried about reception (but maybe the 6" billet I'm thinking of won't be much different). You did it in your Sierra, right? Any issues with reception? The radio stations have weak signals around here for some reason.

I didn't see the length of it as I was on the road. The 12-20 inch ones are what I was thinking about.

I did delete mine but moved it into the engine compartment horizontally. I had good reception but I was in the city too though. Any HD radio around there?

We have one HD station that I know of but that's it.

We have quite a few hills and trees around here so that is my concern with reception.

I'd imagine, although I know jack about RF, that a full length but horizontal antenna under the hood would be about as effective as that 6" stubby.

I'll ask one of our RF engineers tomorrow at the office.
