Whats up guys,

so im looking for a good place to hit some snow in my truck. ive heard big bear has some pretty sick trails. my truck is also my daily driver so im looking for something on more of a novice lever.

anyone have any suggestions on where to go?
(i know it will be hard to find snow around OC in june, but i figured i can scout some trails during the off season)

Thanks!

Just as a heads up, if you go out in the snow this winter, GO PREPARED! Snow is a very unforgiving offroad medium, so be sure you have lots of rescue and survival gear with you if you go. Also, don't go alone and make sure someone knows where you are. I work in remote mountains in the winter, and I could give you plenty of stories of how a minor "stuck" turned into an all day recovery, even with proper equipment. Just my $.02

This time of year the snow's pretty much gone.Check these webcams http://www.snowsummit.com/ski/cams-pics-videos/live-web-cams/.But there are fire roads that should be available for travel.

Back in the '90s friends and I were part of the Dual Sport motorcycle community and travel many dirt roads around a place called Barton Flats.Lots of good fire roads in the area....follow this link..http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/!ut/p/c4/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gDfxMDT8MwRydLA1cj72BTSw8jAwjQL8h2VAQAng7kaQ!!/?ss=110512&navtype=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&cid=null&navid=110350000000000&pnavid=110000000000000&position=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&ttype=activity&pname=San Bernardino National Forest- OHV Riding & Camping

As Wayne said be prepared for anything & everything

Thanks for the info grandpadirt, i will do some research!

NMram, Thanks for the heads up. my buddys got stuck overnight last year and luckily a rock crawler found them and pulled them out.

i Always keep survival gear such as food, water, emergency blankets, rain ponchos, fire starters/quick light mini logs ext. all in a bag in my truck. so i should be good for a few days in that kind of scenario.

I have decided i am done with MUD in my truck. i have literally spent over 3k in repairs in the last 4 months on my truck. around the same time i started going mudding every weekend.
my truck has never had problems before that, so maybe snow is my new friend!
