I need to clean up all the wires going to my battery post, I've got a lot of accessories wired up to the battery, lights, efans, etc. Anyone know of an easy way to clean it up? Maybe add a distribution block or something? Here is what it looks like now..... And yes I know it has some corrosion, I'm cleaning that up when I do the other stuff as well.

Holy crap.

Why are you running your ground back to the battery? Your component grounds should be as short at possible. Ground them to the frame, block etc. The positive side could have a main cable, fused of course, to a distribution block with separate fuses for each run.

Something like this.

I've heard different things about grounds, some say its best to run back to battery. I understand the battery ground goes to the engine block. I actually have fewer grounds than I do positives going to the battery, just doesn't look that way. A lot are grounded to bolts and things of that nature. The battery ones are actually about the closest. All the connections do have fuses links. The ones all going to the battery are kinda heavy cable, either 10-12 gauge or heavier. I have t found any fuse blocks that can handle that.

Clean that corrosion with isopropyl alcohol, but remember to do it with the battery disconnected.

yeah, I agree with Jon here, when you cleanup the battery area take your grounds to the frame as close as possible to the source. Then I would ground the battery to frame as well. The other thing to do is just ground the battery to the frame directly with 0-2 awg wire, and leave the other wires(second choice).

Holy spaghetti wire Batman! Yes, a distribution block is the way to go. As stated ground everything to the frame/body as close to the source as possible.

Make sure you run a nice 02 gauge at least wire from the neg post on the battery to the body, as well as the frame and the engine block. You can get copper welding wire online for a good price. It is really flexable and from what I have read the best thing to use.
