No, that's not a banana in my pants.
Same goes for chrome tow hooks.
Back in high school, the more stick on chrome you had the better your truck was. It was a phase i went through with my first truck. I am very glad that bad taste left me after graduation pretty much 
But whats even worse, i went out and traded that one in for a newer one with more crap on it

The only thing I don't like about the red one is the door handles and the lit up front air dam.
While I'm not a fan of the chrome lower cladding, it's not offensive. But I will agree, I like your truck better without it. I'd love to get rid of mine.

Problem with Hummer was mostly tools and rappers bought them and loaded them up with piles of chrome and 26 inch wheels... The general public turned on them.
Hip Hop kills yet another thing in our culture.
I must confess I like rap. But all those "blings" in the trucks look bad. Stacks are also ugly, but the worst are still those "truck-nuts"...
Oh yeah that was another one, lights on the air dam were a big thing also in the parking lot. Every other gmt 400 chev had them lol.
You can certainly remove yours. ITs not that difficult. Drive up here or I'll come to your place on a nice hot MN day and rip them off. Took me 3-4 hours at a slow pace with beer involved
