I know the more - offset and smaller the backspacing the farther out the tire will be. I was wondering how much of a difference a 0 offset 5 backspacing out be compared to a +18 offset and 5.71 backspacing. I know the +18 is just about 1/4 inch past the fenders but not sure about the 0. :dunno:

Basically the offset is more relative to the stock offset of your vehicles current rims. If your new rims are -35 and your old rims are +35 your new rims are going to stick out a LOT. If your new rims are -12 and your current rims are +1 your new rims will stick out maybe quarter to half inch more than your old rims(not that much) I did exagerate to make the point but offset is more relative to your vehicle specs than anything so it can vary from truck to truck. Hope that helps because it was confusing to me when I was searching for rims.

Thats the way I understood it any way. Correct me if Im wrong. I was told that the stock offset for my 1997 f150 is +14 on my 17 inch rims.
