all i know is the 14 bolt Full floating rear end came in 73-00 in drums and was used untill 05 or 06 with discs, hell they may still use it today. :dunno:

it is damn heavy incredibly easy to work on and is damn tough, not with a G80. :D
But Clancy, we've already determined that I can't run a FF with 6-lug! Yes I do love how easy it was to take out the axles and do brakes on the one I've seen, but staying 6-lug is way cheaper than buying and figuring out how to convert my front end to 8. If I could go FF, I'd stay with drums just because they are HUGE and I'm betting have a lot of stopping power.

Oh crap. Well, as long as it weights less than 500lbs, my S10 won't squat...at least it didn't with my Honda in the back (just under 500).

14-bolt SF's don't use the C-clip do they? I thought that was supposed to be the weak link in the 10-bolt? Or do the axles bolt in from the back side?

The end result I'm going for is a 14-bolt SF, 3.42, Eaton TruTrac, paired with 3/4 or 1 ton springs.

I'm still waiting on J-rod to open his up and see how it dies, I mean does, but he's still breaking it in. I'm really interested in it since there are no clutches or parts that wear out (or so they say).

Anyone heard stories of TruTrac's in 14-bolts?
