No...usually I don't. I only use it for getting through an intersection.

If the roads are super bad, I will leave it in 4hi. That is what I did when the 17" blizzard came through.

I'm just not a fan of it (and don't have it on my truck anyways). I prefer to be the one that decides what is selected. Plus I don't ever want to hear what it sounds like when the front diff engages with the engine reved :ohnoes:. I just think its better to be off the gas whenever changing from 2wd to 4Hi.

Question: Why is there a Neutral light on early GMT-800's even though there's no button for it? How do you even get the T-case into Neutral? I can't do it on mine, but I know you can with the manual shift 4x4.

It's seamless. Works perfect, and those fears are unfounded.

You push both buttons at the same time for neutral, noob.

i believe you hold the 2hi and 4hi at the same time and it puts the t-case in neutral and you can do it with your truck too, i just dont know how

and also i leave it in auto all the time and never feel it engage or hear it, i feel the front driveshaft spinning but that is about it, and taking off or giving it some power and sliding a little bit for fun idoesnt "slam" it into 4wd so i dont worry about it

You'll almost never feel it engage, although I have. You should try it out a little bit in an equipped truck, you'd like it.

So do the Auto 4x4 T-cases have clutches in them or what? And which two buttons do you hold?

I don't have it on my new truck but with traction control and the G80 the only time I used 4hi so far was to test it out and make sure it was working.

My old Yukon had it and I would typically use it in winter when I wasn't messing around if the roads were real bad. Those things have enough weight in the rear that you rarely need it anyway. My friends wife has a tahoe, he put it in auto the day they bought it and told her never to touch any of those buttons so hers just lives there.
