There are supposed to be fixes for the bent frame issue with Raptors. Anyone know if they really work?

The last I had heard, Ford was blaming people for abusing the trucks.. I haven't read up on it much since then, though.. :dunno:

Which is bullshit :bs:

Don't they market it as some offroad monster? Meant for driving the Baja?

They are alright, but most of them are mall cruisers

I would get a GMC Sierra with a 6.2L and have BB take a look at it :D

Ask Michael (Darkanion), do judge him by his current vehicle though :jester:

One of the major things that frustrated me about that truck had nothing to do with the truck. It had to do with living in a big metro area with about 5 million people (maybe more) between Dallas, Tarrant, and the surrounding counties..

There's too much traffic and it is rare that you get an opportunity to every really open one up for more than 2-3 seconds at a time.. (Especially as quickly as that thing would grab speed.) All that power seemed useless and I came frustrated at never really being able to really use it.

I loved the 6.2 / 6-spd combo. But, it was rare that I was ever able to open it up very much and actually felt like I was getting my $'s worth out of having the truck. That was probably as big of a contributor to me getting rid of it as anything else. :dunno:

Stomp the gas. Son of a .....! Get out of my

way!!

I thoroughly enjoy every bit of power most of the times that I want to. :D2

More power to you (no pun intended.. or was it? :uhoh: ).

I kept getting frustrated with the idiot drivers around here (one of which was probably in the driver's seat ) and the truck wasn't as much fun to drive because of it. I figured I was too set in MY ways to change how I drive..... and the hp was too tempting to NOT want to use at least some times.

I would much rather have a car that has "ok" performance and can at least go through a curve at a decent speed, so I can feel some lateral g's than having to feel like I was always having to wait on the curve to end before I could enjoy the truck's hp..

I could've lowered the truck and did some things to the suspension. But, those things weren't going to help it be a better truck and they damn sure weren't going to help the occasional off-road/back-roads trips I do. So, I got rid of. :dunno:

EDIT : I just noticed you're in Lawton, OK.. Move down to DFW for a few months and I think you'll see what I mean about the traffic..

You should have gotten one of those Hondas with a fart can. You could probably shift 20 times between cars but feel like you are doing 120.

That shits real, son!

You better watch it, man. Next thing you know, you'll be buying a Honda minivan and loading car seats in back of that sucker!

Ha ha Hell Nah. This is a non-minivan family. Even if I ever liked the idea of one I still could not. I have talked way to much crap to friends that bought mini vans over the years, no.

Buddy of mine though, I feel for him. He had s Siena and for whatever reason after 3 engines (Lemon) he traded it in on a Nissan Tuscan? little crossover. He then found out he was having twins so he went from anticipating a 2 kid family to 3...

Ouch! Yeah, when you two start popping out more kids, I bet a minivan comes into the picture, too..

This can be a common problem...

f-150-raptor-frame-problem-1.jpg

My brother has had a few of them at his body shop.

The Raptor has the same frame as any other F150 of the same model year, so if I had this problem with a Raptor, I would have the same problem with any F150. Does that mean the F150 needs to be taken off the list of potential new truck purchases?

Have you seen a baja race? These guys went beyond that.

Well yeah, but it just strikes me as funny when you build this basass offroad truck, and then blame guys for being too hard on it.

Kinda like if your smoker broke and the manufacturer told you it wouldn't have broken if you wouldn't have been smoking meat in it.
