I agree. The gas washers have some serious pressure. Mine works great on the house, driveway, sidewalks, etc. I've had it for a number of years.

After searching the net, it appears that the cold water pressure washer idea is not such a good one for vehicles (other than spraying off some dust). I know car washes use hot water here in the soap cycle and I'm quite sure those cheap bastards would bypass that step if it was not an integral part of the cleaning process. A professional heated water pressure washer is not something I intend to buy, store, and maintain!

Oh well...

You need to invent and sell the "Home Car Wash". Make it a kit that heats the water, includes an arch you drive the car through, and hooks up to any pressure washer. You'll be rich. :)

(and only owe me a very tiny percentage for giving you the idea) :)

The electric one that my dad bought, is pretty much useless for actually cleaning a dirty vehicle... As was mentioned, only good for cleaning off a layer of dust.

There's always a Hotsy style setup... Probably more than you're willing to spend, but it IS heated and electric.

It would be worth it if you had a dedicated bay!

I have both. I have a 3200psi Honda, and an electric Karcher. I use the electric most of the time, but there are those times when it is really nasty, and I use the Honda. I have several tips, so I can keep from stripping the paint.

I actually drive my trucks though, so the do tend to get dirty.
