Acadia (and its other GM twins) is one big heavy vehicle. It's not going to get great mileage, that's for sure.
Any Thoughts on GMC Acadia's?

They seem like pretty nice vehicles but I've never rode in or driven one.
I hear Grand Cherokees are pretty nice.
I've been trying to get her to agree on this, because I really like the 11/12 model years. She says no, and I gotta keep momma happy.
Agree with this, just can't bring myself to buy something smaller when I know we'll be having a second little one in a couple of years and then there won't be room for 2 car seats and other people/cargo.
We had an 08 and loved it, it got on trips 22mpg fully loaded down with all of us and my father-in-law. We upgraded to an 11 due to electrical issues with the 08 that the dealer could not figure out plus it was at 88k miles and for trade in $$$ purposes it was time. We looked around at other vehicles but the Acadia just works for us, plenty of room where others didn't have it like behind the third seat.
The 11 is a great vehicle but disappointing in the MPG area. This one gets us only 18 mpg hwy so far. Not sure why the drop. I thought that direct injection was supposed to improve mpg. It does have more power that is for sure. The other issue is they have the transmission set up to stay in low gear longer. I talked to one of the Techs at the dealership and he said it was to help with the transmissions. Some of the older models had issues with the "wave plate" going bad and it was from staying in high gear or shifting into high gear early. At least that was my understanding. I feel that is what is killing our mpg. I wish Justin would tune these so he could work his magic. I really think it can do a ton better. There are Acadia owners that are getting 24mpg and a few even more.

Like I said, we love ours, enough to buy another one with an upgrade to the SLT-2 package from the SLT-1 that we had in the 08. Memory seats are nice as well as cooled seats. Oh which reminds me, look up other vehicles with the same features and you will not get one for what the Acadia has. That was another seller, ton of features at a lower cost than what Ford and Mopar could offer. Only looked at Subaru and it wasn't big enough and Susan didn't want a Toyota or Honda.

Matter of opinion but I do like the looks of the newer Grand Cherokee.They seem like pretty nice vehicles but I've never rode in or driven one.
