Only way I would even consider the Commander myself is if it had the Hemi in it. I'm just not all that convinced that I would ever buy one of Chrysler's V6 engines. The Commander seems like a well made vehicle.
My wife has the 3.7L v6 in her Jeep Liberty, that thing is quick. She is around 95K miles now, and we have had 0 problems with it. I would buy another one, the Liberty is just way to cramped for me though.

Our's rides really nice, I like the vehicle, but as I stated before, it's way to small inside for me to drive. Perfect for the wife though. The only complaint I have about it is the wheel base is so close together that it sucks in snow/ice.

I'm liking the Commander.

Tahoe will have more room.

Nothing comes close to the QD-II 4x4 system in the Commander (even the QT-II is awesome, its like having an LS front & rear).

Tahoe will ride better.

Don't see a major difference in reliability.

I wouldn't get the Commander with the V6.

Best thing you can do is go check out a Commander and take it for a spin.
