Cowboy Cadillac
Ain't no trash in my trailer!
I wanted to add these:
To these:
I started by pulling stripping the interior panels off..
See this thread for how-to:

The factory hole for the Power mirror wiring harness is where I decided to put my light, so as to not make any more holes in the door panels.(Tip: if you put a non factory item on and you have a non visible spot write down the size of fasteners with paintpen or marker as I did originally on passenger side
)
After drilling a pilot hole in a carefully measured position( I used a drill bit 2 sizes bigger than light backing, and put it to very front edge of factory hole and made a mark for center)I removed the mirrors for ease of drilling. Which is when I noticed this:
(A little cleaning with a rag and light sandpaper and some touch up paint and all was good again)
(I appearently forgot to paint the back of the drivers side mirror which I also remedied)
Now I forgot to take pics of the next few steps (don't shoot! don't shoot!
)So I'l explain as much as possible. I ran two new 18ga wires from front turn signals( on both sides) into the cab, which i then ran through the rubber tubing that goes to doors. (You will need to remove door sills and kick plates on both sides)
From here I used bale wire(go figure right?) to fish the wires through into door, ran them along factory wiring harness to mirror.
I used connectors so I can remove the mirrors later to repaint them or move them to new truck
I wired into the 194s in the turn signals( blue and brown wires, I cant remember which is switched) I went from blue at signal to white at light, and brown at signal light to yellow at light. I mounted the light with a 9/16 flat washer siliconed on the back of mirror plate, and siliconed the light bezel to outside of plate to stop water from getting in.
This is the finished product:
It works great except the hazards dont flash through them, which is fine for me. If anybody else gets the ambition to build you own custom mirrors and you want to add turn lights....here ya go
On a side note, if any of you guys reload your own shells Im looking for two .44 shells to put on mirror head in place of the nuts. Needs to have no powder or primer in it, as I have to drill out center to fill with epoxy so I can mount them.
