A/C question

On my 2004 Silverado 1500 I just did efan conversion and had ecm tuned by black bear and had them turn on efan option and then installed new radiator and alternator and got it all back together and my efans run on low speed like they should, when I go to turn a/c on my a/c light will flash off and on 3 times and my a/c doesn't kick on. Is this normal if it is 45* outside? Just wanted to see if efans run on high speed?

The ambient temperature may be too cold. Can you park it in a garage or something and they then?

Yeah, I would think 45 would be too cold. If you have the auto climate control, I know there is a certain temp it needs to be to kick on. And I'm sure 45 would be too cold.

The fan should only come on high (with the ac on) if the AC pressure goes over ~250 PSI. Only other time the fans should go to high is if the engine temp is over (depending on what they set it at) ~210. Get with bear and find out what fan settings are for your tune. Personally I set low fan to come on @ 195 and high fan to come on at 205. All that being said, it sounds like you have a problem with the AC. If you have automatic AC scan it for codes. The AC should come on and stay on down into very negative temperature numbers. It might cycle because the pressure is low in colder weather, but the light should stay on in the cab of the truck. It is to cold outside for a/c to turn on. Gonna run it inside of shop today and warm it up and see if a/c kicks on and if efans turn on high speed.

I can crank the A/C on at -40, compressor still kicks in.

That ain't it.

Yep is was too cold for a/c compressor to run. The efans work great and a/c is always cold now.
