Thank you Trucker John. I have a lot of installation to do. I have no garage and suffer from narcolepsy and fibromyalgia among other things. With it being winter coupled with my wife being on a honeydo trip, updates are slow to come. I have some killer purple neoprene with which I plan to redo the headliner, visors, and door panels. It looks like purple carbon fiber.

I recently blew the v reg. Because I forgot to disconnect the batt when i was checking sonething. So a new one was just installed.

I still need to purchase a tachometer, speedometer, and two green leds (for turn indicators) in order to complete the instrument bezel.

I have collected everything to completely replace the entire brake system except for the metal lines. Considering that the existing ones are rusty, and new ones are inexpensive, I think I might just go ahead and replace those too.... Or should I save for a bit and go stainless lines...

Got to replace the speedo cable and gears.

Ok, my narcolepsy med is kicking in and I am getting too loopy, more in the near future.....

When I installed the HEI ignition system, I had to delete the resistor wire. I did not realize i was disconnecting the I terminal on the voltage regulator as well. Today I corrected that wiring error so now the alternator is charging properly. I also installed a new water pump today.

Finally had a chance to do some work on the truck. Yesterday I did the first coat to blacken the engine compartment. When the temperature gets above 65 again, I will lightly sand the dull spots and shoot again. This is a trick to save sanding time.

Today I installed the new valve covers and the new wire loom. The loom was initially too long, so I cut it and repolished the edges. I also needed to drill and file the mounting brackets for proper fit. The T handle at the brake booster wouldn't fit, so I installed a stainless steel allen bolt there instead. All in all, a very productive day. I especially like the oil filler plug.

It looks good, but I think I'd have taken the time to paint the intake manifold. :dunno:

I did the top end in an old '74 350 I had and painted everything Chevy orange and black while I had it apart. I never thought about taking any pics of it, but it sure looked good.
